I generally prefer to record outdoors. I grew up spending a lot of time outdoors, and I still feel lightened and more permeable when surrounded by open space. A Midwestern temperament, maybe. So winter is a trial, always between walls that can make my self feel hemmed and stuffed.

These two pieces are emotional and kinetic exorcisms, ripping out some of the stuffing. So far the most noisy thing I've shared, but I don't think of it as angry or even frustrated. It is antic, if anything. Engaging with my deprived senses.

Recorded with various items found in my immediate surroundings, including a ukulele, and featuring (prominently) the aggressively mundane rhythms of a washing machine. An adaptation to my surroundings, a concession of space.
