PadraigC Intriguing, mysterious & engaging.
I love the different 'objects' and their sound/s combined. The samples/clips add another dimension. Favorite track: "My headphones they saved my life".

about

"Marvelous scandal: I am born." – Clarice Lispector

Winter/Spring/Summer 2020 - 2021 (mostly): These are some of the first recordings that I made after deciding I wanted to share art and feelings and notions with others through sound. (Not the very first, that would embarrass everyone.) I happened to make that initial decision during winter, and so these were ALL recorded inside, for once (with one small cheat). Mostly with personal objects, and also a ukulele—which is a kind of object, I guess. Offered here on the occasion of my birthday.

Stray notes:
"You can write poems..." is dialogue I recorded from the film Claire's Camera (2017). I wanted to share this because it is a lovely example of how I feel about wanting art, and the idea of being an artist, to be something that is naturally inclusive. And because I love Kim Min-hee and Isabelle Huppert.

"Service for Shut-Ins" takes its title from a program that I remember running on local access TV in Indiana, broadcasting sermons on Sundays. I personally consider Whitney Houston a kind of spiritual music.

"Happy Enchilada" borrows its title from an anecdote told by John Prine about his song "That's the Way the World Goes 'Round." It was recorded with his rough-and-tumble empathy in mind and heart.

"Tornado" is the only thing here I'd shared with anyone before. I recorded it on ukulele while sheltering in my bathroom during a tornado warning, a year and a day ago. I turned on the water in the tub, because I find that sound very soothing, and I hope you do too.

"You can write poems anytime you want!" is a recording of Kim Min-hee and Isabelle Huppert in Claire's Camera (2017).
Performers on "Service for Shut-Ins" unknown, but probably close by.
